Default Panasonic going the Olympus way - 08-06-2009

It seems Panasonic is making a small interchangable lens camera around the micro-four-thirds system.

Here are some leaked photos!

So what will Canon the Nikon do?

Hello everybody , hope you enjoyed your summer vacation, unfortunately I did not use my new D3X this summer , I was hoping to test it , but did not have the chance

I think we need this kind of cameras, sometime you don’t want to take your slr with you and at the same time don’t want to use the point and shot type because of the limitation and the quality of the small size sensor it uses , but using the four-thirds sensors to make a micro F-T cameras is a good idea, it give you a small SLR like camera in a very small size

I am really thinking to buy the Olympus E-P1 pen camera

Traveling light and taking photos made me buy the Canon A650IS small with full manual control, and now the Panasonic LX3 with an F/2.0 lens and RAW capturing in a small formfactor.

I believe every photographer would buy the Pen for the same reason Olympus made it, convenience with all the quirks of an inter-changable lens.

What is odd is Canon & Nikons' complete silence on the topic, maybe intorducing a capable PEN like camera will hurt their entry level SLRs.

The DP review of the camera was very good I only wish Olympus would buy off Foveon from Sigma and use it in their cameras' or Sigma would make a PEN. Never know what the future holds, but it's only making taking photos easier and with better control on the quality of the outcome.

I do not know why they would like to compete with the 90 yr old company like the Olympus?! Except if there is a price temptation

Well Z, Panasonic and Olympus developed the Micro FourThirds system together, developing products and giving variety will most likely put pressure on the other camera makers too. But who knows.

Default Samsungs' new twist (Mirror less SLR) - 01-04-2010

Today Samsung came up with it's own mirror-less inter-changable lens camera.

The only sad thing is Canon & Nikon are not even close! Well it's Samsungs day and the technology is really catching up with photography very fast.

Here are some articles on the NX10.

I am really looking for a good small camera like this one, or Olympus PEN-2 or something similar.
something that is small and also better than the compact cameras

I think this will bring down prices for Olympus and Panasonic Lumix as they share the same size and quality , DSLR like camera in a compact size format.

Default Pentax - 02-02-2010

Many years ago I picked up a Pentax Auto 110 Super which was an SLR type 110mm camera with auto winder accessory and had different lens.
I loved it even though it was 110mm.
Unfortunately it was damaged beyond repair in transport.

I see that Pentax is also stepping into the micro digital.
